in celebration of epiphany, our church has an annual luncheon & project. today we created memory boxes for the NICU at our local medical center. as it happens, the bereavement groups i facilitate through this hospital system include parents who receive these memory boxes to hold the treasured too few moments with their babies in. garments, pictures, and other artifacts can be placed in these as a way of remembering. whether i meet the faces of those who receive this box or not, my heart goes to them. the work of the hands of my child & other children and adults will reach their hearts in a deep way through this creative act.
