standing here.  on mulch & pinestraw. breathing deeply. ready to help.  ready to serve.  ((at the country living fair in atlanta, ga.))

10.10.2011

delighting with my love in a space filled with lights.  we've visited this place many, many times over our years together.  i love being with my one-and-only-true-love.

sacred day two hundred seventy-six

two hearts.
10.3.2011

i brought my boy some new headbands from the studio and he took them and made two hearts.  he curled up in a loving shape and grinned so sweetly.  he was proud.  he was showing me love and said so.  one for me. one for him.  *tears*

sacred day two hundred seventy-four

looking up.
10.1.2011

looking up so thankful for a new ride.  a ride that is new-to-me and will get me from place to place.  a ride that will see me to my retreats, workshops, and art shows.  a ride that will carry groceries, family, and sleeping bags.  a ride that will become a part of our life story as we live.  i am thankful.  i am thankful.  i am thankful.

sacred day two hundred fifty-nine

a proud boy.
9.16.2011

decked in his purple gear we get ready to roll outside after his second week of kindergarden.  he's dressed well, with high spirits.  he is ready to play.  he knows he's a cool kid with his headband and rockin' socks.  i love, love, love my sweet boy. he is a gift.  he is beautiful. he is sacred.

sacred day two hundred fifty-six

porch wisdom.
9.13.2011

Kindness Girl has a lot of heart.  she creates a great space for her kiddos, neigbors, and the world.  i am happy to receive her kindness and her voice.  she calls my work "soul work" and that is a gift to my soul.  i receive her words and allow the power of her voice to move through me.  she is a gift.  her voice, her words, her rocking chairs.  powerful.  sacred.

sacred day two hundred fifty-three

morning light.
9.10.2011

the sun brings that good vitamin D and that jolt of energy.  the sun's light streams into my kitchen window and flavors our morning meal.  our bodies are restored with these days of good light after rain, wind, and cloudy darkness.  we're revived and rested.  we love the light!

sacred day two hundred fifty

stepping together.
9.7.2011

we're starting new rhythms, new patterns.  walking beside one another, holding hands.  i'll take this every day.  i love the walking. i love the hand holding. i love the morning stillness & movement.  i love the shared stories as we walk and talk together.  i love being mother to this child.

sacred day two hundred forty-nine

show me what today was like.
9.6.2011

my boy's first day of kindergarden.  how sweet.  he was a little uncertain.  he was a little scared.  he was excited, too.  all of those mixed emotions. at the end of the day, in that moment of picking up, hugging, and lovin' i asked him to show me what today was like.  this. this exuberance. this joy.  this delight.  it spoke of the day and the day's end.

sacred day two hundred forty-four

beginnings.
9.1.2011

walking into my sweet boy's new school, there was so much energy and life.  these are sacred moments for parents and children alike.  my love and i grabbed hands after dropping our boy at his class with his new teacher.  as with our life journey together, we hold hands walking into the orientation.  we are in this together.  for that, i am abundantly thankful.

sacred day two hundred thirty-one

soul music.
8.19.2011

my loves and i sat on a blanket and listened to the sacred sounds of gillian welch & david rawlings.  i love that the image distorts the lighting.  ((they almost look like they're living in a mushroom.))  sitting next to new friends & enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes that filled the evening.  i loved watching the lightning in the distance as these two sang and swayed.  there was even a bit of dancing.  such a wonderful summer evening with the winds blowing so gently.  there was something magical in the air.  it was so delightful.

sacred day two hundred twenty-eight

shared tea.
8.16.2011

where women gather and share tea, magic is present.  i delighted in sharing tea among friends on this occasion. hearing stories of life, frustrations and hopes.  i am thankful to be in this life at this point in time.  in all time, there's a sacred space that's shared among others when gathered at the table and sharing tea or food. the table + tea is a delightful, sacred space that i will treasure the whole of my life. now and always.

sacred day two hundred twenty-three

a mighty fine cafe au lait.
8.11.2011

one of my favorite drinks.  i sip from this cup of cuban style cafe au lait and find myself warmed through and through.  the sacred comes and sits with us at the table.  sometimes the sacred is present through others seated with us.  sometimes the sacred is the food itself.  here the sacred is in this space and in the space of this cup.  the sacred is present to me in each sip.  pure delight.

sacred day two hundred twenty-two

a night out.
8.10.2011

i love going out with the ladies.  we gathered ourselves and set off to carborro, n.c. just outside chapel hill.  we feasted on laughter & stories. the laughter that came under these lights delighted me.  i became more restored & refreshed after a great deal of good life processing.  good, soul work.  good, soul food through laughter & light.

sacred day one hundred ninety-three

a meal.
7.12.2011

i love having a leisurely meal with my love.  we've given ourselves this night out together, savoring each taste. enjoying each word.  he's the love of my life, my one and only true love. the love between us is sacred.

sacred day one hundred eighty-one

pleasure.
6.30.2011

divine! warm bread topped with butter & fresh plum jam.  there's delight. there's life. there's love in this daily bread.  the sacredness in the spirituality of baking bread, feeding my family, and taking my own divine bite.

sacred day one hundred seventy-five

blooming friendships.
6.23.2011

visiting a friend, seeing her blooms ((the many, many blooms in her garden)) i am in awe.  she's one of my favorite gardeners, favorite artists, favorite people to be around.  i treasure our days and moments together and am truly thankful.  thankful for the sacred spaces of colorful homes, blooming gardens, and blooming relationships.  i see the sacred within her.  she is beautiful as she blooms.

sacred day one hundred seventy

an empty glass.
6.18.2011

the tonic with lime was empty.  drinks were consumed.  sushi was eaten.  stories were told.  names known.  laughter shared.  in the sacred space of a ladies' night out, we found delight.
