sometimes the act of creating has a different form than you'd expect. as i am fervently writing away, welcoming the Creative Spirit into my midst today, i'd expect to give you something of that experience. instead, on my way to pick up my son from preschool i was given moments of waiting at an every-day intersection. once i reached the light for another gift of waiting, i saw what was providing that gift: these men working to fill a rather large pot hole. traffic has slowed all over richmond with these men (and maybe some women) working to fill up the holes. for them, i express my gratitude. i recognized the moment of creativity quite quickly and shot this image before the light was mine to take. there was something beautiful about watching them work, sun shining down, with their reflection on the hood of my car. a creative act of embracing the moment and honoring it with thanksgiving and respect.
