blueberry pie goodness.

oh, if you were near i'd invite you over. i'm so pleased with how this blueberry pie turned out. my love simply loves pies. loves pies. i wanted to make this as a special treat for him today. we've each enjoyed a slice tonight after the young one has been tucked in. i used my favorite pie crust recipe from the Jackson, MS Junior League Cookbook: Come On In (just needs capitalization with the Junior League) and found this recipe online for the pie, which i recommend. i didn't follow the recipe to the letter, but the ingredients are the same. the ice cream isn't home made, yet. we do make our own, but the ice cream maker insert isn't ready. the freezer space is being made as we eat up the veggies from last year's CSA share. tonight we carved space a little taste of love, each enjoying this delightful pie. i remember the pie makers and bakers in my ancestry and i give thanks. all the women baked pies & enjoy(ed) a slice of pie all of their own.
