a candle is lit for those who grieve. a candle is lit for elmer, who imparted wisdom and excellence in my ministry. this moment was spent sitting in darkness, surrounded by the sounds of the rain and the gray skies outside the window. i sat in the stillness. i sat with the sadness. sometimes it's in the dark spaces that the light can shine brightest.
