centering.5.6.2010
creating takes many shapes, but the prevailing theme through these creative hands is circles. concentric circles have been given greater meaning over the years. cutting, stitching, and working with the variety of colors gives my creative spirit a centering. it's a practice that i enjoy and that feeds my brain. i create something seen and envision art as i cut and place these together. i dream as i cut. i create both with my hands and with my internal eyes, my mind's eye. the layering takes shape not only in the circles, but in the creative process. each creative act impacts the next to come, or gives honor to what's being done for myself or another. it's a beautiful layering that forms what i do and how i live. the layering of motherhood, ministry, and arts is one that helps me to be whole. all have their place. i am in the midst of each part and of the whole.
