day seventy-three

mom's a makin' something.
3.14.2010

my four-year-old son took this photo as i was sewing & stitching yesterday. i consider this my creative rest. sunday afternoons are sabbath keeping in our home, time for rest & wholeness. while the boys slept, i enjoyed quiet time in the studio for this time of creative rest: feeding my mind, body, & spirit in a way a nap cannot. [FYI: sewing=machine; stitching=hands.] my son likes to take photographs and i really enjoy seeing his view. it's a rare occasion to get to see into his world, tasting a little piece of his perspective. i was delighted to review the images he captured and then to select one that spoke to both his creativity and to mine. i'm wearing one of the the two skirt-turned-smock/apron that an earlier image showed me sewing the straps.
