sundays are always a quiet time around these parts. we've added soccer games following worship to the routine. there's usually an inner stirring on my part to engage in creative rest: a time of using my creativity in a restful, restoring manner. i paint or draw or sew something that's relaxing and adding to my wholeness. sometimes i make or bake something in the kitchen. this creative act involved washing and stacking and admiring the colorful fabrics purchased the day before. in this act of cleaning & preparing, i've begun dreaming of the uses of these fabrics: their possibility, the creativity that can come from using them well.
