birthing from within.

each piece of art that starts as a thought sometimes makes its way to a doodle. some doodles end up carved as relief prints or land in paintings or ink drawings. this is one of my favorite newer doodles. i love her movement, her birthing taking shape. i've enjoyed returning to her this day, celebrating what is taking shape. i've surrounded her with the purple of childhood, a favorite color above all colors. it's funny that my favorite colors of adulthood are the colors that create purple. i'm allowing myself to be loved and to share the love within through the work of my hands.
