god is in the dirt.
4.5.2011
while i don't use the name of god often in these posts, i do find the presence of god in the soil. the creative power of dirt, containing the good worms and other parts we don't see is a powerful space. this creative space is one that i love getting my hands in, making mudpies and creating space for seeds. in keeping with lenten practices of reducing the containers we purchase, i wanted to design a space for our seeds that could be beneficial for the earth in a few ways. using paper cupcake holders and left overs from last season, we created the perfect space. even the markers are compostable reclaimed cardboard. i see god in the dirt. i see the presence of the sacred surrounding this moment, from toes to soil from the garden to the way we care for the earth now and in the years to come. good spaces. sacred spaces.
