magical moments: tent play.6.18.2010
i get routine requests for capes, costumes, cooking, and all sorts of play. this moment records my son's request for his room to be one big tent. i strung ropes all around the room and then added sheets, play silks we've painted, and a quilt. we put lots of pillows underneath, pulled out his crib/toddler mattress, and added small blankets underneath. he had a fun time playing in this magical space. he even was able to sleep in his tent room through the night. i love moments like this when i abandon what i'm doing to help my son reach a creative impulse all his own. what fun.
