in the second of two birth art sessions with E, i witnessed her imagery come to life. E's sweet girl in womb has given her a lot to think about as she's in pre-term labor, experiencing a great deal of contractions even as we continued to create (and also between the first session and this one). the birth art became so significant as a distraction and in recognition of what is hoped for. my friend's dream of this child & the birth she had in the dream was poured onto the canvas, just as the vessel of the oil of blessing was painted and poured onto a birthing mother with father beside, then onto the mother and child who hold each other close. my friend E is kind and her gifts are generous. i appreciate her broadening my own sharing of creative experiences through birth art in the first invitation to create with her three years ago. such times are sacred. this creative act was a pleasure and a joy to be a part of.
