creating safe places for myself and others is a part of ministry. in this space, a favorite local episcopal church, i engage children to pray through paint. i chose the the little red chair to begin painting myself, asking each child to add something to the chair. it will become something other than it is. then it will become a means to rituals that we will create and share, becoming itself a safe place. a safe, prayerful place where you can rest your sitting bones.
