using the tent for my art booth, we created a knight's tent of sorts. dress up play & art was inside the tent. the weather was grand, sun shining all around. children running, playing, decorating...so much fun. i laughed at myself for creating my all time worst cake ever. yes. looked good, tasted good out of the oven, but not so hot the day after. my son loved how it looked, and that's what mattered. it was an for the icing only kind of cake, even that was better off the cake itself. i laugh at the creative follies, but am pleased. it's not the worst i've tasted, but i'm not proud of it. i am proud of my son, his enjoyment of life, and for all the good people that surround us on a daily basis. some creative moments are just full of life, others are for the process and not the product. regardless, there's a 4-year-old smiling today, remembering fondly his small but sturdy birthday party.
