day seventy-one

sewing hands.
3.12.2010

there were two days this week that this same image could represent. i made an apron/smock a couple of days before this second apron/smock. to ease the process, i've used the same pocket & strap fabric. i love that this fabric was a craft swap donation from Modern June and her fabric scrap goodness. it's served me well this week. my sewing machine hasn't been opened since christmas pajamas which next year will be advent pj's. there's been a certain fatigue in the week that has needed my form of creative rest. when i use my hands and body to create something, even to stitch rows on this fabric, my soul finds peace. "peace work through piece work" is a way i describe this process. i'm thankful to have the time and need to engage my energies in this way.
