color nest.

another day filled with winter white. we traveled up the street and back today as the snow was covering the city, quite literally. you couldn't see the view we have of the city from our hill from the snow. when we returned, i needed to be near color. intimate with color. so i took some of the colored pencils i love and sharpened them all. many have been broken by art groups, which i don't mind. i sharpen both ends of the small fragments. i ended up with a really colorful nest to behold. it's been photographed in a variety of shapes that will come into play somehow. then i used the pencils to draw. jo joined in the fun, too. i loved the colors before me, a good contrast with all this white.
