inspired by a new shawl/wrap/poncho (there are many names i'm not sure which works best here), i wanted to sew and enjoy. these stitches are made thinking of myself, almost as if i'm writing a love letter to myself today. i took the care and the time to sew something for me, to enjoy sitting and listening to stories from This American Life and stitch each one after the other. i took this with me tonight to add stitches while at WomanKIND, but while listening to the wisdom of Annie Lamott (yes, she says Annie) i stopped. i stilled myself and listened. i've enjoyed these stitches as much as the stitches of conversation getting to know other women a bit better. this love letter to myself continues, as i think that this weekend will bring a longer letter with images and words and song.
